Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Psalms 51:10

I’ve thought many times of creating a Christian blog to encourage women to do greater work for the Lord and to receive encouragement  in my Christian service as well. I had the name, The Servant Heart, and some definite ideas, but needed to find the time to work on it. While my grandson was in the hospital for a week, I found some blogs that inspired me to think more seriously about it.
Last Saturday, I attended Berry Church of Christ’s Ladies Day where Sister Jane McWhorter, an author (I’ve listed some of her books under “Inspiration and Study” that I have enjoyed)and retired teacher, was the guest speaker. She spoke about, of all things, “Opportunities For Service.” Her words were the encouragement I needed to jump in. So here goes, my first post on The Servant Heart. Above is a picture of my family, possibly where, as Sister McWhorter suggested , my first service for the Lord began.  Young mothers have a perfect work teaching their children and providing for their children’s needs. I have a Christian family which gives me such peace.
I also love to travel and cook. So, along the way, I plan to reminisce about the trips I’ve taken, short and long in “Oh the Places I Go “ and to share some favorite family recipes. Incidentally, the Ladies Day was one of the best I’ve ever attended. I was truly blessed.
